Midland Technical Translations – FAQ
How do I know your document translations are accurate?
- We have an excellent track record of providing high quality translations
- We only use mother tongue professional linguists
- We can arrange proofreading for you if required
Translation accuracy is sometimes a worry when you can’t read the final version of your translated document yourself.
So, what kind of measures do MTT have in place to help ensure the translations we provide are as accurate as possible and how can you help?
We check the qualifications, experience and references of each potential translator carefully against our standards and often use test pieces to ensure that they are professional. This means that when you give us a text for translation, we know who would be the most suitable person to trust.
We develop good relations with our professional linguists so that when a document is not clear, we trust them to speak to you direct and clarify the information they need. We don’t hide them away and prevent contact but actively encourage it to ensure the best possible end result. You’ll always find their name on our confirmation sheet for example.
We’ll offer proofreading by a second professional translator, which is vital if text is to be published or is safety critical. A second equally-skilled translator can double check the original translation and make sure that it’s accurate. Most people preparing a document for publication in any language would agree that it would make sense to get it proofread by a fresh set of eyes before publication.
We are a reputable service provider with experience in handling a wide range of document types - we know what to look out for and know who to trust. We can even provide translators with combinations of skills (for example legal and medical with technical) to suit the requirements of each individual document.
And finally, translation certification is offered free of charge and notarisation is available at cost. Useful if you’re taking a document to court for example.
Language can sometimes be a bit of a grey area, but with 35 years’ experience in the field, ISO certification since 1996 and corporate ITI membership held since 1990, MTT are best placed to help you make sure your translations are spot on every time.
